Release 3,500 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu: Cauvery authority to Karnataka The Cauvery Water Management Authority has directed Karnataka to release 3,500 cusecs of water daily to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days.
This decision is a significant development in a long standing dispute between the two Indian states.
Karnataka had appealed against an earlier order from the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee, citing below normal monsoon rainfall and drought conditions as grounds for non compliance.
