As the dry spell shows no signs of abating, it is clear that the Netherlands’ defenses will need more than just repairs – they require a fundamental rethinking of how this low-lying land is managed. The consequences of inaction are dire: houseboats lost, farmers struggling, and an entire logistics chain under pressure.
